Mail Forwarding

What does it mean?

Mail forwarding means that Postnord automatically redirects your mail to your new address for a chosen period. The service is available in periods of 3, 6, or 12 months and costs from approximately 159 SEK (3 months). You can easily order it via postnord.se, the app, or by phone.

Important to note: forwarding does not apply to all types of mail. Unregistered newspapers, advertising, and certain promotional mail are normally not forwarded. Packages are not automatically forwarded either — they are usually returned to the sender. Make sure to notify important senders (bank, insurance, authorities) of your new address directly, and do not rely solely on mail forwarding.

Key Points

  • Ordered via postnord.se — available for 3, 6, or 12 months
  • Costs from approximately 159 SEK for 3 months of forwarding
  • Does not apply to newspapers, advertising, or packages
  • Order preferably one week before moving for a smooth transition
  • Notify important senders of your new address directly — do not rely solely on forwarding

Practical Tip

Order mail forwarding at least one week before you move. Choose a 6-month period to ensure all mail is captured. In the meantime, systematically update your address with all important parties.
